In the Quad, a planetary system on the brink of a bloody interplanetary class war, a fun loving trio of bounty hunters attempt to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants. Killjoys is a fast paced space adventure about a trio of hard-living, party-loving bounty hunters working for the R.A.C (Recovery and Apprehension Coalition). An Independent interplanetary organization of assassins and retrieval experts, who are known across the J cluster as Killjoys. The show centers on their lives and activities in the Quad, a heavily populated solar system, ruled by a tyrannical class based corporation known as the company. With the whole system verging on revolutionary war and their own bloody pasts finally catching up with them. The three struggle daily to maintain their R.A.C neutrality by focusing on the only law a Killjoy won't break "The Warrant is all". As a low budget SciFi series, Killjoys is better than most. Interesting story lines, excellent use of special effects, and lots of action. The biggest downfall for me is Hannah John-Kamen. I can't understand about half of what she says and that often ruins my viewing experience. All the other cast member are great, mixing seriousness with humor nonstop throughout each episode. No, it's not perfect. It's kinda cheesy and it has some clichés. But the recipe is good, and it works out in the end. I just love it. I'd like some more backstory on the quadrant, it looks a bit messy for now. They show it more and more as it happens via exposition, but I still got no clue what happens in this universe. I like that the space aspect is toned-down. The spaceship is not the centre of this show, despite it being an AI and thus an actual character. The show lives and dies by the rule of cool. Cool weapons, cool gadgets, badass lines. The killjoys in-universe seem to get all the fun, the rest of the people are just scrounging around. Except for the royalty. They have all the fun, oppressing people and blessing gardens. Anyway, watch this show.
